- HOA LU ANCIENT CAPITAL
Step into Vietnam’s early history
Our journey begins at Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam during the Dinh and Early Le dynasties from 968 to 1010.
Surrounded by dramatic limestone mountains, the former capital was naturally protected by the landscape. Today, the quiet valley preserves important historical and cultural remains, including temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and Emperor Le Dai Hanh.
Take a walk beneath traditional Vietnamese architecture, admire the intricate details of the temples and discover stories from one of the most important periods in Vietnam’s early history.
Beyond its historical significance, Hoa Lu is also a beautiful place to slow down and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the Ninh Binh countryside.
- TRANG AN
A journey through mountains, rivers and caves
From Hoa Lu, continue to Trang An, where limestone mountains rise dramatically from a network of quiet waterways.
Step aboard a traditional local sampan and let your rower guide you through a landscape shaped by water and time.
The boat passes beneath limestone cliffs, through natural caves and into secluded valleys. Depending on the route, you may travel through caves such as Dark Cave, Light Cave and Wine-Brewing Cave, while discovering small temples and historic sites hidden among the mountains.
There is no need to rush.
Listen to the sound of the oars touching the water, watch the landscape change around every bend and simply enjoy the remarkable silence of Trang An.
It is a chance to experience one of Ninh Binh’s most extraordinary natural landscapes at a gentle, unhurried pace.
- MUA CAVE
Climb the mountain. Find the view.
The final adventure of the day takes you to Mua Cave, one of Ninh Binh’s most iconic viewpoints.
From the foot of the mountain, a stone staircase leads upwards through approximately 500 steps. Along the way, the climb becomes increasingly rewarding as the surrounding landscape opens beneath you.
At the summit, panoramic views stretch across the Ninh Binh countryside — limestone karsts, winding waterways, rice fields and small villages surrounded by mountains.
The climb requires a little effort, but the view at the top makes every step worthwhile.
On clear days, the landscape takes on a beautiful rhythm of green fields, limestone peaks and winding rivers. Around sunrise or late afternoon, the soft light creates an especially atmospheric view.
Take a breath. Look around. This is Ninh Binh from above.
